Multi-housing
With the help of Rick Wilkinson the work continues at Lee Terrace. Rick has been working with me for a while now and plans too take Lee Terrace over when the time is right. We are having good attendance at our 3:00pm Sunday service and are continuing to build relationships there. The work at Jenna Way Landing continues as new relationships are being formed and the gospel is being shared. There has also been a new work started at Agsten Manor on the West Side of Charleston. Norm Cannada is leading a afternoon service there on Fridays. Norm continues to have good attendance and the residents really look forward to these services. Please join me in praying for the next multi-housing start once Rick Wilkinson takes over Lee Terrace. Submitted by: Danny Cunningham
Mission Trip to NYC
We are collecting the following items for our associational mission trip to New York City. As part of the ministry, the week of Thanksgiving, we will be taking food boxes to about 70 families in the Bronx, New York. Items that we need to collect include: soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, lip balm/chapstick, toothpaste, toothbrush, floss and a wash cloth. If you or your church would be interested in helping, please contact Norm Cannada at 989-4529. We also still have a few openings for the trip which is Nov. 21-28. Let Norm know if you are interested.
West Charleston is host site for Angel Food
West Charleston Baptist Church has become a host site for the Angel Food Ministry, a nationwide program designed to help families make their food money go further. The food is ordered and picked up once a month and accepts all forms of payment including food stamps. The food is estimated to be about half the price of what it would cost in the stores. For more information, orders or to look at the menu for October, go to angelfoodministries.com or westcharlestonbaptist.org.
CALL TO FALL
Sonic Flood, a leader in worship music, will be in the Pioneer Association on November 4 as part of “Call to Fall”, an evening designed to call us to prayer and repentence. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Cross Lanes Baptist Church. In addition to the Sonic Flood concert, there will be times devoted to prayer seeking God for our community, our families and our nation. It is sponsored by the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists, the Pioneer Baptist Association and Cross Lanes Baptist Church.
